We are a 501c3 non profit organization. Lake Charles Pit Bull Rescue is a breed specific rescue organization that is dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and re-homing of pitbulls and pit mixes. LCPBR is also an educational based organization. LCPBR educates through breed specific historically correct facts, dog training, specifically bully breed training classes and individual training sessions, and youth based educational material and meetings against dog fighting and animal cruetly.

LCPBR is also dedicated to erasing the homeless pet poplulation through the spaying and neutering of all of our rescued animals, and through the education on the importance of spaying and neutering pets. It is our goal to offer low cost spay and neuter clinics for pitbulls in our community. To also help accomplish this goal LCPBR firmly believes in micro-chipping all our rescued dogs. The micro-chip provides animal shelters and vets with the necessary infromation to re-unite lost dogs with their families. It is also LCPBR’s goal to offer low cost micro-chip services to low income dog owners.

LCPBR rescues fifty to sixty pitbulls a year. Each dog that comes to LCPBR has to be temperment tested, updated on shots, spayed or neurtered, and micro-chipped. Many of the dogs also have to be treated for heartworms, mange, and other various ailments such as leg surgery or tumor removal. A rescued dog can take anywhere from 1 month to a year to get ready for adoption, and anywhere from 1 month to a year to place in a home. LCPBR is considered a no kill organization, meaning that once a dog is under the care of LCPBR, that dog lives under our care until placed.
